Report a message, chat or story

How reporting works when chats are end-to-end encrypted.

A message: press and hold it (or select several) and choose Report.

A person: open their name at the top of the chat and tap Report. You can block them at the same time.

A group: open Group info and choose Report.

A story: tap the flag at the top of the story.

Our safety team can't read your chats, so your device sends a copy of the messages you chose, and we show you this before it goes. The rest of the chat stays encrypted and the other person isn't told. Messages the sender has deleted can't be reported, so report quickly. We erase the copy 90 days after the report is closed.
